Adventure cycling and touring is truly en vogue at the moment and thanks to Komoot and Garmin, the whole process of planning your route just got that bit easier.
By partnering Komoot’s latest free app with your Garmin cycling computer, your online planned routes can be downloaded wirelessly to the head unit, ready to be used, with the option of even re-routing on-the-go.
Komoot claims that it is already Europe’s most popular cycling route planning app, and with this latest edition, riders will have greater ease at planning their next journey without fear of getting lost.
Any planned route is immediately accessible as long as the app and Garmin are paired. Users are also able to re-route or re-plan journeys, with an instant update on their cycling computer, if unforeseen circumstances are met.
By allowing riders to adjust as they go, Komoot and Garmin will be answering the needs of all those adventure and touring cyclists – of which I have been one – who have found themselves hopelessly lost following a patchy map on their phone.
Product manager at Garmin, Nicolas Kral, believes that this latest partnership with Komoot will help all those burning to explore the great outdoors.
‘This partnership enables Garmin users all over the world to take advantage of komoot’s flexible, sport-specific route planner and will improve how millions of people experience the outdoors,’ he said.
