Milan, October 13th, 2025 | Komoot is teaming up with Garmin, a leading provider of GPS-enabled fitness technology, to make planning and navigating new routes even easier for millions of cyclists. When setting up their Garmin Edge® cycling computer for the first time, users will now see komoot specifically recommended as part of the onboarding flow in the Garmin Connect™ app. This quick option to connect both platforms highlights the strong relationship between Garmin and komoot.
Since 2017, Garmin and komoot have enjoyed a close and trusted collaboration. Through an API connection and the komoot app in the Garmin Connect IQ™ Store—which was downloaded over 2.5 million times—users have long been able to transfer their komoot routes directly to their Garmin devices. In recent years, features like “Navigate with Garmin” and komoot maps for Garmin have been added. With this new phase of cooperation, it is now even easier for Garmin users to connect komoot to their cycling computer and start navigating.
- Direct route transfer: Planned komoot routes can be launched on the Garmin device within seconds via “Live Sync” using the “Navigate with Garmin” button.
- Navigation with maps: In addition to Garmin maps, users can access komoot’s well-known maps and route information, including details such as surface types and elevation profiles.
- Flexible adjustments on the go: Route changes can be integrated during the activity without stopping the recording.
- User-generated content to enhance route planning: With komoot’s community-driven features, cyclists can plan their next adventure. Millions of suggested routes enriched with photos provide a better understanding of the journey—and navigation on Garmin can begin with just one click.
With this expanded collaboration, komoot becomes instantly visible to millions of new Edge device users. This gives them direct access to the app’s planning, route sharing and navigation features—enhanced by community content like route suggestions with photos and reviews.
